One of the first things we tell prospective clients is that we don’t subcontract. Every build we complete, from the groundworks through to the electrical installation and the final walkthrough, is carried out by our own in-house team. It’s worth explaining why we do it that way and what it means for you as a client.
Accountability Is Clearer When One Team Does Everything
When a garden room company uses subcontractors for some or all of their builds, accountability for the finished product becomes fragmented. If something goes wrong with the electrics, is that the installer’s problem or the main contractor’s? If the cladding was installed incorrectly, who’s responsible? When one team does everything, the answer is always the same: us.
We’ve been trading since 2010. Our reputation is built on projects we can stand behind, and we can only do that if our own people are in control of every stage. That’s not a philosophical position; it’s a practical one.
Quality Consistency Across Every Build
Subcontracted labour varies in quality. When you use the same team on every build, you get consistent standards because the same people are applying the same methods to every project. Our team knows how we specify a base, how we frame a wall, how we fix cladding, and how we run electrics, because they’ve done it that way on every project we’ve delivered.
You can see the results across the projects on our Our Work page, from the Prenton studio to the Bebington music studio and the Ellesmere Port living space. These are all built by the same team to the same standard.
Direct Communication Throughout the Project
When our own team is on site, you can call us and get a direct answer about what’s happening on your project. There’s no relay chain of main contractor to subcontractor to site manager. You deal with us throughout, from the initial consultation through to handover.
This matters more than it sounds. Building work involves decisions. Materials arrive slightly different from what was specified. A site condition emerges that affects how something is done. When the people making those decisions are our own team, we know about them quickly and can deal with them quickly.
Checkatrade Approval and What It Confirms
We’re Checkatrade approved, which means we’ve been vetted for the quality of our work and the way we operate as a business. It’s not a guarantee of any individual project, but it’s a useful independent signal that we operate to a standard that an established vetting organisation is prepared to put their name to.
The reviews on our Checkatrade profile are from real customers who’ve had work done, and they reflect the experience of working with a team that manages and delivers everything directly.
What to Ask Any Garden Room Company Before You Commit
If you’re comparing garden room builders, it’s worth asking directly: who will be on site? Are they your own employees or subcontractors? Who installs the electrics and who certifies them? Who do I call if something goes wrong after handover?
These aren’t awkward questions. Any reputable company should answer them clearly. You can read more on our About Us page and check our FAQ for answers to other common questions.
